Happy H A L L O W E E N !

Instead of furiously packing on Sunday night, prince charming came home with the last 5 large pumpkins in this pumpkin-less city and a grip of Dion's pizza and salad.  What a nice man.  We watched Monster House and The Nightmare Before Christmas and carved to our heart's desire.  Felt nice to chill and spend good time with friends that I know will feel like a strange dream in just two short days.

fally fall fall birthdays

Wow.  Three years just flew by!  Jill and Narayan are packing up / selling off their belongings and are making the final preparations to fly to India in 4 weeks.  My family is pretty devastated...but I'm trying to save face and just get through the transition while enjoying the time we have together.

This last weekend our long time family friends hosted a birthday / goodbye party for Jill to celebrate her THIRTY-SEVENTH birthday.  It was really sweet and was the first time in a while that we could all be together without any arguments / confrontations and just enjoy the moment.  This is the season of birthdays for my family: my sister first, then my dad, then me, and finally my mom. (And if my sister just turned 37....then that makes me almost 27!  woot!)  only a few more birthday parties to get through...

I made a pumpkin cake with amaretto cream cheese frosting :)
